Kudzu is a good metaphor for ecological disruption, one of those opportunistic weeds that are only a problem because things are out of balance. Weeds that in their natural state grew for a few years in some forest clearing created by the fall of a mighty tree till something more permanent came along. But we are in a state of disorder, and so Kudzu is everywhere.
