This is very important for role modelling. However, apart from that, has visible diversity at the top in any way changed how corporations act? Is it more effective in changing corporate behaviour than putting stakeholders such as unions and suppliers (regardless of gender or ethnicity) on a supervisory board charged with making the corporation take a long-term approach, as in Germany? Of course, that is doubtless a separate issue. Still, it might be worthwhile to discuss it, if only to emphasise that diversity is mainly to create positive role models and is not a panacaea for misgovernance.
